Keynotes

Governing what you cannot see

AI-mediated discovery is a governance question wearing a marketing costume.

What it covers

AI recommendation moves economic value, concentrates attention on a few names, and shifts who controls the story about a place or a sector, with no accountability mechanism attached to any of it. This session makes the governance case rather than the marketing case, and it concedes the parts of the argument that are not yet demonstrated, because an argument for accountability that is careless with evidence deserves to lose.

What the audience leaves with

  • Why this is a governance issue and not a search optimisation issue
  • The four places AI-mediated discovery touches existing policy commitments
  • What can be measured without asking anyone to hand over their data
  • What would have to be true for the strong version of the argument to hold

Book a date

Put someone on stage who measures what he is talking about.

Tell me the date, the city and the audience, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for your programme. Next confirmed: 10th TPO Forum, Taichung, Taiwan, 16 to 18 September 2026.
